Protective Shell

Carl's Protective Shell

Carl's expanded barrier explosively clears a crater in the nymph pile, giving crawlers a brief protected regrouping area at the bottom of the pit.

Story so far

When a wave of mantis nymphs falls onto Carl after landing, he activates Protective Shell. Its current radius is enormous and the forming barrier throws bugs, elves, dinosaurs, and hunters outward while leaving crawlers and corpses inside.

The cleared crater lets Donut heal Mongo and Imani move among wounded crawlers. Because the ability is spent, Carl later needs Katia's smaller I Need My Personal Space spell to breach the pile around Diwata.

Appearance

A huge translucent barrier erupting outward and blasting hostile bodies away from its center.

Role

The shell prevents the falling swarm from immediately overwhelming the crawler team.

Relationships

Carl — He casts the enlarged defensive barrier.

Princess Donut — She uses its respite to heal Mongo.

Imani — She treats wounded crawlers inside the cleared space.

I Need My Personal Space — The smaller borrowed spell replaces it later in the push.
