The Mantises sue to save Vrah and are rumored to have secretly sold Borant a used amusement-park AI already prone to early primal behavior.
Story so far
After an earlier incident, the Mantises must retire their amusement-park AIs every season. Hunter rumor says they sold one of these already-used systems to cash-strapped Borant Corporation for a real crawl through an under-the-table transaction.
The faction later leads the successful court challenge meant to release Vrah and other hunters after the regime change. The same AI refuses the judgment, potentially reacting against the faction that originally discarded it.
Role
The Mantises may be responsible both for the unstable AI's presence and the lawsuit that provokes its autonomy.

Vrah — They pursue the release ruling to save her.
Borant Corporation — They allegedly sell Borant a retired AI under the table.
