The seventh floor is a massive one-way glass-tube maze modeled on a resurrection folktale, but Prepotente destroys it before the race begins.
Crawlers arrive in glass pods arranged as a corkscrew around stacked portals to the eighth floor. The rules describe hundreds of kilometers of branching tubes, pitstop saferoom nodes, marked danger levels, one-use zero tubes, and paths that seal after a party or ten crawlers pass.
Prepotente recognizes the construction as a giant Prince Rupert's drop based on a universal fairytale. A boy repeatedly chooses lethal maze paths, is resurrected, and eventually learns to crack the structure at its entrance.
Before Cascadia can finish announcing the race, Prepotente inserts the enchanted stick into a chemically treated wall and taps it with the hammer. Every wall on the level explodes into dust, and all crawlers are pulled directly into the eighth-floor portals.
A corkscrew tower of clear glass starting pods and tubes spiraling around a luminous column of portals.
The intended twenty-day race becomes the shortest floor when its structural fairy-tale weakness is exploited.
