Clown is a longtime Howler of Darrow's pack and the husband of the veteran Pebble. On the Deepgrave raid he cracks nervous jokes in the crushing dark of the submersible—dreading dying in a 'metal coffin' when he'd rather go 'smothered under tits'—and needles Darrow about nearly beheading their quarry on the Luna night. Irrepressible and a little reckless with his mouth, he trades wisecracks with Sevro and pisses off the boat's side in contests, but soldiers on into the prison's Omega Level when the mission turns and their target's cell proves empty.
