Lightbringer

The Lightbringer · the razor of Silenius au Lune

The ancient razor of the first Gold overlord Silenius au Lune, stolen from the Hyperion Museum.

Story so far

The Lightbringer is the razor of Silenius au Lune, the great and terrible hero of the Conquerors who first tamed Earth for Gold. A priceless relic on brief loan to the Hyperion Museum of Antiquities' Conquerors Exhibit, it sits behind duroglass at the summit of a Delphic temple display. Sized for a man twice Ephraim's frame, its handle is real ivory inlaid with gold filigree, the rest brutally economical; in whip form it coils like a thin sleeping snake.

On Liberation Day, Ephraim's crew steals it for a private collector—an ancient sword of conquest passing quietly into the underworld's hands.

Appearance

An ancient razor sized for a large man, with an ivory handle inlaid with gold filigree and an otherwise brutally plain blade that coils like a sleeping snake in whip form.

Role

A legendary artifact of Gold conquest; the heist target that draws Ephraim into deeper games.

Relationships

Ephraim — The thief who steals it from the museum for a collector.
Lysander — The exiled heir of the Lune line to which its first wielder, Silenius, belonged.
