Caraval

Publius cu Caraval · The Copper Tribune · The Incorruptible

Ascetic Copper Tribune and 'Incorruptible' voice of reason in the Senate; occasional ally of the Sovereign.

Story so far

Publius cu Caraval is the Copper Tribune, leader of the Copper bloc and a former lowColor public defense lawyer who rose after the war to become a voice of reason in the divided Senate. Punctilious and vice-free—hence 'the Incorruptible'—he still wears the same drab suits from his lawyer days and serves as an occasional ally of Sovereign Mustang. He conducts the Senate roll call, and when Darrow petitions for the Resolution of Liberty Eternal to fund the final war on Venus, Caraval rises to back him with soaring words—casting the Reaper as the People's greatest weapon against tyranny, to be sharpened anew.

Appearance

A small, middle-aged Copper with a narrow, pleasant face, a large nose, and cold eyes; his copper hair parted precisely, dressed in drab, antagonistically unfashionable suits rather than his toga.

Role

Copper Tribune and centrist power broker; a principled Senate ally of Mustang and Darrow's war petition.

Relationships

Mustang — The Sovereign he serves as an occasional, principled ally in the Senate.
Darrow — The Reaper he publicly champions as the People's weapon against tyranny.
Dancer — The Vox Populi leader whose antiwar gambit he watches warily from the centrist bloc.
