Julia Au Bellona

The Bellona matriarch who starves for vengeance, demanding Darrow's heart on a silver tray.

Story so far

Julia au Bellona is the withering matriarch of House Bellona and mother of the murdered Julian, the true and crueler enemy behind Darrow's peril. It was she who sent Karnus and Cagney to the Academy for his heart. Every night since Julian's death she lifts the lid of an empty silver tray at her family's high-hall on Olympus Mons and reproaches her kin for failing to bring her the murderer's heart—nursing on hate until she is more wraith than woman.

Only Augustus's arms, money, and name have kept Darrow's heart off her plate; in three days that shield vanishes.
