Seed is the mapped destination beyond the silos: a stocked concrete tower and compact bunker whose deeper cavern may have been intended for a digger.
Charlotte interpreted lines on a map as routes to a place marked S-E-E-D, believing it might offer something better; this was initially a theory. Juliette later reasoned that the diggers’ projected headings could locate the destination and estimate its distance, and hoped the point where their routes met would offer a safer life.
The destination lies in its own bowl-shaped depression, across a green valley from the fifty silo sites. A concrete tower partly hidden by tall grass and vines contains clothing, tools, canned food, and sealed bags of labeled seeds. Its door has been blown open despite being designed to open from within.
The bunker packs twenty levels into roughly the height of seven ordinary levels. Its twin stairwells end in an empty cavern on bare rock, which someone speculates could be a landing place for a digger. The survivors have found no generator.
A concrete tower stands in a bowl-shaped basin amid tall grass and vines. Below it, twenty compact levels and twin stairwells lead to an empty rock-floored cavern.
It is a stocked destination inferred from the silo plans and reached by the survivors; the cavern’s intended use remains uncertain.
