Neighboring Silo Thirtieth-Level Hydroponics

Wilds

The thirtieth-level hydroponics contains dark, winding water loops and ruined plants; the children know a tangle in the grow pits as the Wilds.

Story so far

The hydroponic farms on level thirty contain three closed water loops extending through winding corridors. When encountered in darkness, rotted plants hang from their suspended pipes.

The children call a tangle of plants in the grow pits the Wilds, while the deepest pits have neither working lights nor growing plants. Jimmy and the children plan to tend the Wilds while waiting for Juliette. Elise remembers navigating the Wilds in darkness by always turning right.
