A Champion Has Fallen

Story so far

In the middle of the trainyard cleanup, a system message announced that a champion had fallen and a bounty had been claimed. Everyone present looked at one another; Imani C and Daniel Bautista both messaged immediately to ask if Carl's group was all right, and Carl answered that it wasn't them.

Princess Donut hoped it was Lucia Mar. Carl said he doubted it, guessing it was probably The Goat Lady's shepherd counterpart killing the goat because it wouldn't shut up, and admitted he was too tired to care — there was, he noted, all sorts of business happening out there that they weren't part of. The event goes unexplained before the floor ends.

Role

Unresolved off-screen death that underlines how much of the game runs beyond Carl's view.
