Steam Engineers Key
Steam Engineer's Key · Steam Train Key
A bronze master key granting access to employee areas and actions on all 400 of the Tangle's steam-type trains.
Story so far
The Steam Engineer's Key is a large bronze key Carl loots from the gore of the Nightmare-Express's dead crew (alongside 350 gold). Unlike the line-locked colored-line keys, it 'allows access to Iron Tangle employee-only areas and actions on all 400 steam-type trains of the Tangle' — a true master key for the entire steam fleet. It's the tool that turns Carl from a train-crasher into a train-operator, and later registers as one of three inventory items (with the Ochre key and the souvenir hat) that can pass the Abyss portal.
