Red Line

Red Line Train 15A · the Red Line

The subway line the party starts on — a one-way, up-line route of numbered stations with stairwells at 12, 24, 36, 48, and 72.

Story so far

The Red Line is the Iron Tangle route Carl's party first rides, boarding a 20-car train just past station 80. A wall map at transfer station 83 shows it running one-way, ascending from station 11 up to 435, with trains every 10-15 minutes, transfer stations (saferooms) at 83, 89, 97, 101 and beyond, and stairwells only at stations numbered 12, 24, 36, 48, and 72 — none of which sit at a transfer station, and all lower-numbered than where the party emerged. Every fifth station bears an unexplained red square.

The line connects at transfer hubs to the Yellow line and the dreaded Nightmare Express. Its one-way design makes simply reaching a stairwell a serious navigation puzzle.

Appearance

A red squiggle route-map with numbered station dots; grimy Metro cars racing up-line through tight tunnels lit by random wall-lights.

Role

The party's starting rail line and the first piece of the floor's navigation puzzle.

Relationships

The Iron Tangle — One colored line among many in the floor's tangled rail network.
Carl — Rides it and reads its map to grasp the floor's stairwell logic.
