Donut's Hats

my hats · the hats

Donut's unsold merchandise hats, now worthless — a fact Carl hides from her by promising next-floor sales.

Story so far

Approaching the stairwell at Station 36, Princess Donut cried out that they had never tried to sell her hats. Carl had in fact tried, while she was in the training room: the proprietor laughed at him and said nobody was buying them anymore, not even for a single gold. He didn't have the heart to tell her.

Instead he told her they would try on the next floor, where the hats would be collectibles by then. Her eyes went huge, she agreed he was right, and she declared they would sell them on the next floor and be millionaires.
