Tentacled horrors filling the abyss and still surfacing at station 36; killed en masse by the train bomb.
Story so far
Full-sized Krakaren monsters continued to appear at Station 36 alongside the dwindling ghouls, held off by Imani C's line. Their true concentration was down in The Abyss, which was Carl's reason for sending The Nightmare Express there: the blast would kill loads of Krakaren monsters and perhaps even the province boss.
The detonation delivered exactly that — a torrent of experience notifications, with Carl receiving at least partial credit for a great many abyss kills, enough to push him to level 41. He judged that the province boss itself had survived, and shrugged it off as something to handle later.
Appearance
Full-sized tentacled monsters, distinct from the smaller ghouls they accompany.
Role
The abyss's monster population and the bulk of the experience the train blast pays out.
