Jikininki

janitor ghouls · the Janitors

Seven-foot flesh-eating ghoul 'janitors' who lair in the trains' doorless cars — polite unless you bleed, litter, or trespass.

Story so far

The Jikininki are the Iron Tangle's most common ghoul, dwelling in the windowless 'Janitor's Lair' cars between passenger cars. Level-17, they're gaunt seven-foot white creatures — grown-up cousins of the Drek — with ground-dragging arms, serrated black porcelain-clinking nails, bulging white eyes, and shredder-chattering teeth, dressed in tattered double-breasted suits, conductor 'Janitor' caps, and pinback buttons reading 'How may I hurt you?' Their voracious flesh-appetite makes them the system's janitors: they'll leave you alone unless you're bleeding, littering, or trespassing in their car — which the party promptly does, fleeing the Dreks. Carl and Mongo drop the pair fast (Double Shot missiles, a caved-in chest, a bitten-off head), and Carl pockets a 'How may I hurt you?' button as a souvenir.

Appearance

Gaunt seven-foot white ghouls with long dragging arms, black serrated nails, bulging white eyes, and shredder-teeth, wearing threadbare double-breasted suits with 'Janitor' conductor caps and blood-splattered dress shirts.

Role

The trains' territorial 'cleaner' ghouls — a signature Iron Tangle mob with a grim customer-service gag.

Relationships

Drek — Their smaller, ravenous baby-cousins that swarm the platforms.
Carl — Kills the first pair invading their lair; loots a 'How may I hurt you?' button.
Lucia Mar — Shown on the recap gleefully ripping the head off one of them.
