Port FreeCommerce is the station Murderbot always thought of simply as 'The Station,' the location of The Company's offices and the deployment center where it was stored between contracts in a repair cubicle, transport box, or standby. It only learns the station's real name from a newsburst. It is where Dr. Mensah bought its freedom and where it walked away alone, and where the GrayCris legal battle and the interviews that could expose its hacked governor module are unfolding.
Its newsbursts keep chasing Murderbot outward through the wormhole network, published a cycle after it left.
