Murderbot's former owner: a cheap, paranoid, data-hungry corporate security-bond provider.

Story so far

The Company owned Murderbot as equipment, renting SecUnits and bond guarantees to clients across the Corporation Rim from deployment centers like the one at Port FreeCommerce. It is cheap and sloppy but ferociously protective of the data it collects and steals, its proprietary security tech more robust than anything Murderbot meets on ordinary transit rings. Dr. Mensah bought Murderbot off its inventory, but within the Rim it is still, legally, property.

The Company is now one of many parties tangled in the GrayCris legal fight, trying to generate public sympathy for itself. Murderbot expects it would rather conceal its failures than admit them, a habit central to the mystery it is chasing at RaviHyral.
